What motivates you to practice?

 What kind of musician are you when it comes to your practice habits? Do you look forward to practicing? Do you plan out your practice time? Do you forget to practice and then cram in it right before a playing test? Are you even aware that you have an instrument at home? Small amounts of practicing on a consistent basis produce much better and more consistent results than large chunks of practice time.  Scheduling your practice time at the same time every day can help you stay on track.  Consider setting an alarm to remind you to get your instrument out more frequently.  Make a physical practice chart that you can fill in with stickers. Consider setting goals for yourself.  They could be long-term goals or short-term goals.  Some examples of long-term goals could be learning vibrato, mastering a concerto, consistent shifting, or acing an audition.  Short-term goals might be learning a new note, adding dynamics to a piece, learning a set of measures in ...
